Nicole Bakker, founder of Bright Star Education, has developed a English phonics curriculum for junior and senior kindergarten classes. Instead of rote memory, Bright Star students learn their alphabets and phonics through fun stories, activities and songs. By following this curriculum along with Indian phonics curriculum, our students enter first standard being able to read, write and understand English at the appropriate level. Our kindergarten teacher, Deepti does an excellent job of teaching the children in a fun way so that they enjoy learning.
We are in the final 3 months of our academic year and our senior kindergarten students are now starting to read 3-4 letter words, build sentences and read small stories on their own.
